Description
Theses codes provide specific information about the bill. In field one, the 1st digit identifies the type of facility (e.g., hospital). The 2nd digit identifies the type of care (e.g., Inpatient). The first and second digit are also referred to as the "Claim Form Bill Type". The 3rd digit in field one is the sequence of this bill in the particular episode of care (e.g., Admit Through Discharge Claim). The 3rd digit is also referred to as the "Frequency Code". Updated annually in January.
